About

The 8th Air Force Heritage Gallery is a part of the 453rd Museum. Opened on Remembrance Sunday 2017, the Gallery permits far more of James Clarey's encyclopaedic collection to be displayed for the public.

By widening the subject to the 8th Air Force as a whole, a far wider variety of stories can be told. Whilst the 453rd Bomb Group Museum houses the largest collection of 453rd memorabilia in existence, the Gallery compliments it by throwing wider focus into the incredible and courageous involvement in World War 2 by the United States.

A host of other aspects, from propoganda to a range of aircraft types are covered. The 453rd is never far away; the Post Exchange is a faithful recreation, after 70 years, of their PX.

Open at the same time as the 453rd Museum, all are welcome to view the Gallery between 10am and 4pm every weekend.
